Celebrating Rescue Cat Day With Fluffy

March 1 2023

Rescue Cat Day is tomorrow, March 2nd. Quite a few of our feline patients were rescued from shelters. Some were saved directly from the streets! If your furball was a rescue, then this is a great chance to do something special for her. Fluffy definitely deserves to be pampered a bit! A Carolina Forest, SC vet lists ways to honor this ‘pawesome’ occasion in this article.

Toys

Playing benefits your furry buddy both mentally and physically. Offer Fluffy some new toys to push under the couch. You can’t go wrong with kitty classics, such as catnip mice, but you can also try a more modern toy, such as a smart mouse or remote controlled option. Then again, some kitties prefer batting bottlecaps around. You just never know with cats!

Treats

Fluffy may be finicky at times, but that doesn’t mean she won’t enjoy a special treat every now and then, as long as you stick with safe, vet-approved options. Plain fish and poultry are always good options. Just don’t let your kitty have any of the skin, bones, or fat. Store-bought treats are also fine.

Purrfect Luxuries

Our feline overlords clearly enjoy being pampered and coddled. After all, they managed to convince the ancient Egyptians to treat them as divine beings. Fortunately for us, Fluffy doesn’t expect her humans to build huge monuments. In fact, kitties are actuallay pretty easy to please. Something as simple as a new bed or a cardboard box may be all it takes to get that motor going!

Photo Session

Fluffy is super cute, and she really takes great photos. It’s always funny seeing how expressive and charismatic these little furballs can be. Snap some fun shots of your furry friend as she is enjoying her new toy or bed.

Pay It Forward

Kitties really do bring a lot of love and laughter to our lives. They also have a special way of turning houses into homes. Unfortunately, there are still many furballs out there who don’t have humans to love them and pet them. There are many ways to them out. You can donate to or volunteer at a local shelter. Even spreading the word on social media about adoptable cats can make a difference! (Fluffy can supervise.)
