6 Things That Annoy Your Cat

January 15 2019

Just like people, cats all have their own likes and dislikes. It’s probably safe to say that warm beds, soft laps, catnip, and toys would probably make Fluffy’s list of favorite things. But what would her list of pet peeves look like? Read on as a Carolina Forest, SC vet lists some things that irritate Fluffy.

Being Moved

Napping is, of course, Fluffy’s favorite pastime. Of course, your furry buddy probably doesn’t have many qualms about where she sleeps. This means that, sooner or later, you’ll find your kitty snoozing in an unapproved spot, such as on top of your computer. If you move your furball, she may give you a little meow of indignation.

Attention Done Wrong

Cats can be very lovable and cuddly. However, they are very purrticular about how and when they like to be petted. Too much attention, too little attention, and/or the wrong kind of attention are all serious offenses in Fluffy’s book! Let your feline overlord decide when it’s time to cuddle, and when cuddle time is over.

Baths

Baths are definitely on the list of things that annoy our feline pals! Maybe Fluffy just knows that she doesn’t look her best when she is sopping wet.

Loud Noises

Loud noises also annoy our feline friends. Given that these drowsy little furballs spend roughly two/thirds of their lives sleeping, it probably shouldn’t be a big surprise to learn that they prefer their kingdoms nice and quiet.

Us

Coming to see us is definitely in your cat’s best interests. However, Fluffy really doesn’t see it that way. Your kitty only knows that she is getting put into her carrier and then-despite her protests-being taken on a car ride. Then, there’s a strange place, with all sorts of new smells and even other animals.

Your Other Cat

Kitties aren’t always very friendly towards one another. In fact, our furry pals can be quite envious and territorial! If your pets aren’t getting along, make sure they each have their own beds, dishes, litterboxes, and toys, and pay equal attention to both of them. Playing with them and giving them treats together may also help ease tensions. Please reach out to us, your Carolina Forest, SC vet clinic, with any questions or concerns about your cat’s health or care. We are dedicated to keeping even annoyed cats healthy and purring.
